Our starting point

Everybody needs somebody
they can turn to back home.

MyPekin connects Liberian communities with services at home and Liberian-owned businesses outside Liberia. Start with businesses in Liberia or explore businesses in the United States and Canada. Diaspora ownership is self-reported.

“My pekin, you know somebody?”

That familiar question inspired MyPekin. We’re building a place to discover Liberian-owned businesses, connect directly, and share recommendations with our community.

Co-founded by cousins Quita Harris and Adanne Adighibe, MyPekin is growing through local connections and community feedback.

Find your people.

Browse business profiles in Liberia and the diaspora. Discover what they offer, view photos, and contact them directly.

Discuss scope, timing and payment with your provider, then share your experience through a customer review.

MyPekin does not hold your contractor’s project money.

The people behind MyPekin

Meet our co-founders.

Quita Harris

Co-founder

Quita brings more than 15 years of experience in technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity and program management. She is also the founder of LynkUp, a community internet business in Liberia.

After experiencing limited and costly internet access while visiting her mother in Liberia, Quita set out to connect her mother’s home and the surrounding community. That same drive to solve practical problems and strengthen community connections shapes her work at MyPekin.

Adanne Adighibe, MyPekin co-founder

Adanne Adighibe

Co-founder

Adanne is a certified pastry chef, a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, and a custom cake baker and designer.

As a small business owner, she brings firsthand experience with the value of referrals and community connections to MyPekin.

Looking ahead

What’s next for MyPekin

We’re exploring more ways to connect our community with Liberian-owned businesses. These features are not available yet, and launch dates have not been set.

Evidence Visits in Liberia

A future service to help customers document work completed in Liberia through photos, videos and observations from a site visit.

Evidence Visits would document what was observed; they would not replace a professional inspection or guarantee the quality of work.

Vendor product showcases

A place for listed businesses to display products, prices and availability, so customers can discover what they sell and contact them to order.

Over time, this could grow into a marketplace where customers buy directly from participating vendors through MyPekin.
